Your spiritual journey begins in Srinagar, where we’ll travel through majestic landscapes, crossing the Zoji La Pass to reach the historic town of Kargil. This drive is absolutely beautiful with the mountains soaring high, the rivers rushing, and the valleys that bring such peace and awe. Camp in kargil, think about the beauty of the road to come.
We set out again after breakfast and drive on to Leh, the central district of Ladakh. On the way, stop at the Lamayuru Monastery, a very peaceful place, in a landscape that resembles the moon. Enjoy the religious atmosphere of this place and then go to Leh, where you'll find peace and quiet in the city.
Just a day to adjust to the high altitude and slow pace of life in Leh. Wander through the little markets with all their tibetan art and prayer wheels and religious paraphernalia. Breath in that clean himalayan air and get back in touch with yourself.
Explore the old monasteries and temples, that make Leh a spiritual paradise, after breakfast. Thiksey Monastery which is beautiful and very peaceful and Shanti Stupa the peace pagoda. Let these holy places fill your heart with peace and thanks.
Today’s journey takes you through one of the world’s highest motorable roads, the Khardung La Pass, into the serene Nubra Valley. Visit the Diskit Monastery and walk around the Hunder sand dunes, you can ride the rare two humped camels there. Experience the quiet of this distinct terrain beneath the himalayan sky.
Post breakfast, drive to the beautiful Pangong Lake with its ethereal blue waters that keep changing color with the passage of time during the day. Go down and sit by the lake all night and just absorb the spiritualness of this place under the stars. Allow the stillness to wash over you and fill you with wonder and peace.
And wake up to a sunrise on pangong lake and head back to leh. Marvel at the spectacular mountain views along the way. Arrival, and then the first night at Leh, to sit back and look at the spiritual journey you've taken so far.
